It’s Farmers Market Season

If you’re lucky to call Miami home in January, you know everybody else’s winter is our spring. There’s no better time to get outdoors — have a picnic, ride a bike, watch a movie on the lawn, eat at a sidewalk café.  

One of our favorite things to do this time of year is visit farmers markets. And we’re always on the lookout for something fun to do around the markets to make a day of it.

Coral Gables Farmers Market @ Biltmore Way
Saturdays, Jan. 18 – March 28, 2020, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
405 Biltmore Way (at the intersection of Le Jeune Road and Miracle Mile)

Tip: Visit the historic Biltmore Hotel located 1.5 miles away for a wonderful trip back in time. The hotel’s 19th Hole Bar and Grill is open to the public (as are all other dining options), faces the golf course and serves affordable breakfast and lunch. Parking is free at the hotel.

The Farmers Market @ Merrick Park

Tip: Watch a movie at the lovely Landmark Theater located on the third level. Tickets are surprisingly affordable and feature full recliners (except auditoriums 3 & 5).  Free parking for up to three hours with validation at Nordstrom.

Tip: Stay and stroll the beautiful Pinecrest Gardens grounds, now featuring two giant troll sculptures by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. Admission is only $5 per person.

Lincoln Road Farmers Market
Sundays, all year, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Located at Lincoln Road Mall, between Meridian Ave. and Washington Ave.

Tip: Well, it’s Lincoln Road, so take your pick from dozens of sidewalk cafes, an AMC movie theater (matinees 12 – 3:55 p.m.), shops, and of course, the beach just a few blocks away.

Southwest Community Farmers Market @ Tropical Park
