Friday, Dec. 6, at 9 p.m. in the Gallery: Owner’s Opening

Friday, Dec. 6, at 10 p.m. in the Atrium: The Betsy, in partnership with The Andy Sweet Legacy Project, has commissioned Presidential Inaugural Poet Richard Blanco to write a poem in homage to photographer Andy Sweet and the community his collection remembers: Holocaust survivors on Miami Beach. Everyone that attends will receive a signed copy of Richard Blanco’s new poem, written for Andy Sweet.
Members of the Miami Classical Music Festival Alumni Association, directed by Michael Rossi will perform The Second Movement of the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs by Henryck Gorecki to accompany a montage of Andy’s photos, after the reading of the poem. This song was inspired by the courage of a young girl being interrogated by the Nazis in Poland. RSVP
