Miami cult favorite Whip’n Dip Ice Cream Shop will host the Milkshake Shoppe and create ultimate custom milkshakes at their made-to-order milkshake bar. SUMMARY:Beaux Arts Festival of Art @ UM
DESCRIPTION:The annual Beaux Arts Festival of Art\, Saturday and Sunday\, Jan. 18 & 19\, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.\, is a juried art festival that takes place at the University of Miami to benefit its Lowe Art Museum. This FREE event draws thousands of artists and art enthusiasts from across the Florida region. There will be art work on view and for sale from approximately 230 exhibitors\, as well as  jewelry\, crafts\, food\, live music and activities for kids. In addition\, the Lowe Arts Museum will offer free admission all weekend. \nBeaux Arts is a nonprofit volunteer organization. All proceeds from the festival help fulfill the organization’s mission to bring art events to our community and to support the Lowe Art Museum.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a sunset poetry reading at beautiful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens with complimentary beer by Concrete Brewery for only $5. \nThe evening will feature readings by the winners of “Ode to Your Zip Code\,” a South Florida-wide poetry contest created by WLRN and O\, Miami\, a Knight Foundation-funded poetry festival. \nIt’s not too late to wax poetic about your neighborhood. WLRN and O\, Miami are still accepting odes to South Florida zip codes in the form of the code itself: five lines\, with each line containing the number of words designated by the zip numbers (For example\, if you live in 33139\, your poem would be 3 words\, 3 words\, 1 word\, 3 words\, 9 words). To submit your own Zip Code poem and find out more about the contest\, visit the O Miami website. Courtesy of Kenise Barnes Fine Art. \nThe Coral Gables Museum presents an opening reception for its new exhibition\, “Castles in the Sky: Fantasy Architecture in Contemporary Art\,” at 7 p.m. on Friday\, Feb. 15. This remarkable production explores imaginary architecture through the lenses of more than 25 contemporary artists – from Salvador Dali and Beatrice Coron to David LaChapelle – working in a wide range of media spanning painting\, drawing\, sculpture and video. The exhibition curator and select participating artists will be present for the opening reception. This event is free and open to the public. \nParticipating artists will include Gustavo Acosta\, Diane Arbus\, Clint Baclawski\, John Bowman\, Hannah Brenner-Leonard\, Michele Brody\, Adrien Broom\, Dean Byington\, James Casebere\, Laurent Chéhère\, Thomas Cole\, Beatrice Coron\, Will Cotton\, William Richard Crutchfield\, Linda L.
