It’s time to gather the family for a day at the park! The Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will commemorate 90 years of inspiring people to Live A Park Life. The year-long celebration begins with a mega family fun “Day in the Park” on Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at various parks across the county.
Miami-Dade Parks’ “Day in the Park” locations include:
Crandon Park, 6747 Crandon Blvd, Miami – Lot#4
Activities will take place at open space between Amusement Area and Crandon Gardens, and include:
Parking: $7
Greynolds Park, 16700 Biscayne Blvd., North Miami Beach (East Greynolds Park)
Activities include:
Parking: $2-hour
Haulover Beach Park, 10800 Collins Ave., Miami (Bill Bird Marina entrance)
Activities will take place at the kite field (marina parking lot area) and include:
Parking: free (at event area)
Homestead Bayfront Park, 9698 North Canal Drive, Homestead
Activities will take place at the Atoll pool and include:
Parking: $7-car
Other “Day in the Park” locations will include Gwen Cherry Park Miller Drive/Raices, North Trail, and South Dade Parks, with each park hosting its own unique activities. Please contact the park of interest for updates.
Miami-Dade Parks will also present these signature celebrations on March 2:
“7th Annual Archaeology Day”, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. – Deering Estate, 16701 SW 72 Ave., Palmetto Bay
Open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and includes: Archaeology demonstrations, activity booths provided by partner organizations, and walking tours of the natural areas. Admission: $10-adult, $7-child (ages 4-14); Free for kids age 3 and under.
“29th Annual Asian Culture Festival” – Fruit & Spice Park, 24801 SW 187 Ave., Homestead
Open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and includes: Asian crafts, art, exotic music and dance, and vendors selling a tasty selection of authentic Far Eastern cuisine. Admission fee: $12-adult, $5-child (ages 6-12); Free for kids age 5 and under.
